Hey, I’m Lauren, the founder of Regal Dog Training. My approach to dog training is simple: clear communication, consistency, and a little bit of humor. I’ve always believed that building a better relationship with your dog starts with understanding, and that’s what I’m here to help you do.

Why I Started Regal Dog Training

My journey into dog training began with my own dogs, especially my Australian Cattle Dog and Golden Retriever. I learned the hard way how important structure and clear communication are, and it pushed me to dive deeper into understanding dog behavior. Over the years, I’ve worn a lot of hats—from working at doggy daycares and kennels to being a vet tech, and even climbing the corporate ladder. But dog training was always there, and it’s where my heart truly belongs.

When I first launched Regal Dog Training, I was based in Colorado. After several years of helping Denver-area dog owners, I made the decision to relocate to Rockville Virginia. This move allowed me to be closer to family, enjoy the slower pace of life in the countryside, and bring my proven training programs to a new community. Now, I’m proud to serve Goochland, Short Pump, Glen Allen, Ashland, Richmond, and the surrounding areas, helping local dogs and their people build stronger bonds every day.

My Philosophy

At Regal Dog Training, my goal is to keep things simple. Training doesn’t have to be complicated or overwhelming. It’s about finding a routine that works for you and your dog, and sticking to it. Whether you are dealing with leash manners, recall, or multi dog household dynamics, I’ll give you the tools you need to handle it all with confidence.

I believe in balanced training—using rewards to reinforce good behavior and corrections to address unwanted actions. My goal is to empower you to be the calm, consistent leader your dog needs, without relying too heavily on tools. We’ll work together to make training a seamless part of your everyday life.
